Progressing your claim

You, your Insurers and we have a common desire; to see the claim progressed to its conclusion quickly and efficiently.  Delays assist no one.  Collecting, collating and conveying information required to settle your claim all takes time.  We will however, use every resource at our disposal to ensure no unnecessary delays are encountered.

You will receive notification from us once we have been instructed by your Insurers.  Notification is by mail and our local representative will receive sufficient information for him to conduct an interview with you.  We need to record a statement from you (The Insured) and the last user (if not yourself).  If we need to interview the last user, please arrange the appointment at a time when the last user, or last person in charge of the vehicle, can be present.  We will record a statement from you both.

If they remain in your possession, please have the following available at the interview:

bulletV5 (Registration Document)
bulletMOT (if applicable)
bulletPurchase receipt
bulletDriving Licence
bulletKeys (all sets)
bulletImmobiliser (all deactivators)
bulletPhotographs of the vehicle (if possible)
bulletService History

If any, or all, of the above have been handed to your Insurer or Broker, please advise our local representative during the interview.

If you were not the last user of the vehicle, please ensure this person is present and that they too have their driver licence available.

Delays can arise where documents are unavailable.   Occasionally vehicle correspondence is left in the car and is stolen with the vehicle itself.  Your Insurers will require the documentation for the vehicle and where this is unavailable please read the information provided at 'documents'.

Driver Licence:

In every instance we make application to the DVLA for confirmation of your licence history.  You will be asked to sign a mandate enabling us to receive this from the DVLA.  A copy of the mandate is sent with our letter notifying you of our instruction, please sign and return this at once (before our local representative attends your premises) to avoid delay.

A copy of the mandate can be obtained by clicking on the icon below.  The mandate can be printed direct from the page or cut and pasted into another application allowing you to obtain a hard copy.  This document needs to be completed (in full), signed and returned to this office.
